Science piqued Ms. Garcia’s interest at an early age, and in her current endeavors she works toward scientific and medical discoveries. Currently aiding in directing programs at two of the New York tri-state area’s top facilities, Ms. Garcia is also pursuing a master’s degree in medical microbiology. In this venture, she is expanding her knowledge of bacteria and aims to discover helpful information while researching and working in bacteriology.
Ms. Garcia was set on her path by first earning a Bachelor of Science in biology from St. Francis College in 1984. As one of ten children, and growing up near a hospital, Ms. Garcia helped her family navigate the medical field. She began her foray into the medical industry as a candy striper at the age of 12 and has always looked forward to helping others. In her current positions, she oversees more than 25 employees and handles the daily operations and functionality of microbiology labs.
Outside of the science and medical fields, Ms. Garcia is an accomplished writer, receiving awards on her written work. She published a poetry anthology book in 1994. In addition, she received a Mayor’s Scholarship Award, the Dr. Ellen Jo Baron and Dr. Sydney M Finegold Anaerobic Bacteriology Award and a New York City Honor Citation Award. Marquis Who’s Who has recognized her with a Lifetime Achievement Award in addition to her Top Professional honor.
