Bridgette L. Gomillion-Williams, Ph.D., Senior Silicone Chemist at Quanex Building Products, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Material Science.

As of September of 2017, Dr. Gomillion-Williams has recently transitioned from her role at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, where she has worked the past eight years developing glass, polymers, soft polymer foams, and composites for applications in medical devices and other precision industries. Her latest position, as a senior silicon chemist at Quanex Building Products augments more than two decades of experience in the industry. She is a research scientist, development scientist, team leader, and team developer specializing in thermo plastics, silicone rubber, and especially polymer materials. Dr. Gomillion-Williams has always had a natural curiosity, and entered the field after studying chemical engineering and working with the Dow Medical Company. She is a Worldwide Branding Top Female Executive, a Marquis Who’s Who Industry Expert, and a recipient of the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award featured in the pages of Who’s Who of American Women.

Dr. Gomillion-Williams holds a BS in polymer chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and later earned a Ph.D. in polymer science from the school of material science and engineering at Clemson University in 2000. She was taught by her great-grandmother that nothing is free, and to work hard to achieve goals. While working with a colleague at the California Institute of Technology, she learned how to transfer her skills as opportunities arose. She believes her innovation sets her apart and allows her to see solutions that are not immediately obvious. Dr. Gomillion-Williams would like to be remembered for her passion, especially in inventing the Continuous Flow Chaotic Mixer. She hopes to continue working in material science, especially teaching at the college level.

Dr. Gomillion-Williams is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the American Fiber Society, the American Chemical Society, and the Society of Plastics Engineers. She was awarded Professional of the Year and Industry Expert Honoree in 2017, and was notably featured in Pro-Files Magazine in 2016. She has been working in material science for 28 years. In her free time, Dr. Gomillion-Williams enjoys golf, reading, playing the piano, and playing the flute.
