Patrick Fernandez, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in crime scene investigation.
Mr. Fernandez currently enjoys retirement after more than 40 years of dedicated service as a crime scene investigator and educator. From 1980, up until his retirement in 2011, Mr. Fernandez served as the Crime Lab Technician Supervisor of the Mobile Unit of the Baltimore Police Department. Prior to this position, he served as the Crime Laboratory Technician of the Mobile Unit of the Baltimore Police Department from 1971 to 1979. Earlier in his career, he was unsure of what to do and he began substitute teaching as many of his family members were teachers.
Mr. Fernandez first earned a Bachelor of Science from Morgan State University in 1971. He supplemented his education with postgraduate coursework in forensic science at The George Washington University. For his career, he became a certified crime scene investigation expert and a diplomate of various courses in crime scene investigation. In recognition of his many years of dedicated law enforcement and investigation services, Mr. Fernandez received a Certificate for Service from the Baltimore Police Department in 2011. He received a Special Service Commendation with ribbon in 1999 and 2008. Furthermore, Mr. Fernandez received two letters of commendation from the mobile unit with the Baltimore Police Department. He was the number one contributor from his unit to CCC in the lab section as well as one of the top rankings in his department.
