Drawing upon more than 15 years of professional excellence, Ms. Griffith most recently served as an advanced mathematics and chemistry teacher at Piney Woods School from 1999 to 2005, having previously served as a reading assistant and data entry administrative support personnel at Simpson County Schools from 1993 to 1998. Prior to these illustrious roles, she served the chemical industry as an associate food scientist for Pepsi Cola from 1991 to 1992. She commenced her career as a food chemist for A.E. Staley Refinery from 1988 to 1990.
Ms. Griffith holds a Bachelor of Science from Tougaloo College, a Master of Science from Iowa State University, and a Master of Business Administration from American InterContinental University. A member of the Institute of Food Technologists, she has spent her time writing poetry, her work having been published by the International Society of Poets. In fact, she obtained the distinction of founding laureate member of the society in 2005, which she cites as a crowning moment of her career.
As a testament to her success, Ms. Griffith was named Chemist of the Year by the American Chemical Society in 2004. In her spare time, she enjoys coin and stamp collecting, listening to classical music and solving Sudoku puzzles. Looking toward the future, she intends to return to the food and beverage industry as a flavor chemist in a supervisory role.
