John L. Batzer, a Retired Scientist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in software development.
Buoyed by success in science as a child, Mr. Batzer dedicated his career to advancing the field. He started his journey by earning a Bachelor of Science in engineering physics from Lehigh University in 1973 and an MBA in computer-aided information systems from New York University in 1975, after which he became a senior staff scientist at ITT Corporation and a senior scientist with ITT A/CD. Mr. Batzer then used those experiences to propel him to positions like senior technical consultant with ITT Avionics, staff scientist with ITT Electronic Systems, senior staff scientist with ITT Exelis Space Systems Division, and independent consultant with Global Wireless Technologies, LLC. Over the years, Mr. Batzer obtained many patents for his efforts in software development. He retired in 2014.
When Mr. Batzer wasn’t working, he was very active in his community. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1972, as the president of New Providence Music Boosters from 1991 to 1996, and on the board of trustees of St. Andrew’s Nursery School from 1996 to 1997. To this day, he remains a vestry member and the treasurer of St. Andrew’s Church and a senior lifetime member of the IEEE.
