Bruce Lewis Bullock, Artificial Intelligence Researcher at Bullock Research, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in independent research on conscious systems.
While he has worked and made significant contributions to the science and technology field with several companies, Mr. Bullock feels his best work has been done as an independent researcher. Since 2010, he has focused on this kind of work. His current work has been in investigating conscious AI system architectures and interfaces. Furthermore, since 1992, he has been a trusted science advisor for NASA. Earlier in his career, Mr. Bullock garnered experience as the Head of Intelligent Systems Group with Hughes Research Laboratory, as COO of Teknowledge Federal Systems, Inc., as the founder and CEO of Infrastructure Solutions Experts Corp. and as a managing director of the MIT Media Lab. In addition, he has been a technology consultant for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency IXO, ITO, IAO, a co-founder of the National Security Innovations and a consulting principal scientist of the Soci-Cognitive Systems Division of Charles River Analytics.
Mr. Bullock prepared for work in this field by first earning a Bachelor of Science in physics and in mathematics at the University of California, Riverside. He continued at the University of California, Irvine to later earn a Master of Science in computer science. Mr. Bullock has also contributed his services as a visiting staff member at the Stanford University Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, as a member of the Naval Research Advisory Committee and as a member of the Board of Directors for the IS Robotics Corp. He started researching artificial intelligence, autonomous robotics and computer image processing as early as 1970.
In his career, Mr. Bullock received recognition as the Howard Hughes Staff Doctoral Fellow with the Hughes Aircraft Company from 1973 to 1975. He has also received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Bullock has authored more than 20 articles, book chapters and contributions to professional publications. He cites his success as relating to setting out to do what others may say is impossible.
