Dr. Barringer has been retired since 2000, but has more than 40 years od dedicated professional experience. Prior to his retirement, he was a senior research scientist at Wyeth-Ayerest Research from 1995 to 2000. Earlier in his career, he was a developmental chemist and group leader at Lederle Laboratories from 1957 to 1995.
Dr. Barringer began his career as a student at Denison University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in chemistry in 1956. He then joined New York University, completing a Master of Science in chemistry in 1964. He continued his studies with the school, earning a PhD in chemistry in 1968. A respected voice in his areas of expertise, Dr. Barringer has been an active leader in his community. A contributor of articles to professional journals, he was an adjunct professor at King’s College from 1969 to 1971. A patentee in the field, he is a member of the New York Academy of Sciences and the American Chemical Society.
