Leo Francis Johnson, Physicist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of infrared physics.
Dr. Johnson became involved in his profession because of his love for math and physics. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in math from the University of Vermont in 1951 and worked as a test engineer for General Electric in Schenectady, New York, from 1951 to 1953 before returning to school. Dr. Johnson matriculated at Syracuse University where he earned a Master of Arts in 1955 as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in 1959. He worked as a research assistant with the university from 1954 to 1959 and focused his research on infrared physics before taking his talents to AT&T Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill, New Jersey, from 1959 to 1987 as a member of the technical staff. Dr. Johnson left the company in 1987 and opened a private consulting practice in Bedminster, New Jersey, that he continues to operate.
In addition to these roles, Dr. Johnson worked as a research associate for the University of Central Florida from 1990 to 1991 and was a consultant for Amoco Laser Company in Naperville, Illinois, from 1987 to 1989. He has continued to consult for Amoco Research Center since 1989 and is glad to share his knowledge with others. Dr. Johnson is grateful for his mentors Professor Henry Levinstein at Bell Laboratories as he made it possible for Dr. Johnson to do the infrared research and for Dr. Jeffery Garrett, also from Bell Laboratories. As a testament to his success, Dr. Johnson is a fellow of the American Physical Society and Sigma Xi and has been featured in the 24th edition of Who’s Who in the East. Furthermore, he has been lauded with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
Dr. Johnson has spent time as a member of the St. Brigid School’s Board of Education and has dedicated his efforts to his town of Bedminster, New Jersey, by serving on the Bedminster School Board of Education, a member of Bedminster Township Committee and Bedminster Planning Board, and as mayor in 1996. Furthermore, Dr. Johnson has authored the works “The Layman’s Guide to Understanding The Global Warming Hoax” in 2008, “Understanding The Global Warming Hoax-Expanded and Updated” in 2009 and “Corruption, Fraud and Tyranny in the Science of Global Warming and Climate Change” in 2019. He is a contributor of articles to professional publications as well as patentee in the field of physics.
