James Kaduk, PhD, Senior Research Scientist at North Central College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in academia.
With more than 40 years of professional experience, Dr. Kaduk has been a senior research scientist with North Central College since 2016, having been a research professor of chemistry with the Illinois Institute of Technology since 2010 and president of Poly Crystallography, Inc., since 2009. Prior to obtaining his current roles, he was an associate research scientist with BP Chemicals from 1997 to 2009, where he was previously a senior research scientist from 1988 to 1991 and staff research chemist from 1985 to 1988. Earlier in his career, he was a staff research scientist with Amoco Chemical Company from 1981 to 1985, having been a research chemist since 1977.
Dr. Kaduk first pursued an education with the University of Notre Dame, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in 1973. He then joined Northwestern University, completing a Master of Science in 1975. He continued his studies with the school, earning a PhD in 1977.
Throughout his career, Dr. Kaduk has been recognized for his contributions. He received the Jenkins Award for Lifetime achievement in X-Ray Diffraction. He holds two patents, and he has others pending. He attributes much of his success to his analytical thinking capabilities and his curiosity in trying to understand the world.
