Passionate about research and contributing to scientific discovery, Mr. Reynolds has achieved immense success in the field of science. In preparation for his career, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from the Philadelphia College Pharmacy and Science in 1967 and assumed the role of research scientist with Merck & Co. in Rahway, New Jersey. He held this role from 1967 to 1970 where he met Dr. Glen Arch, his first supervisor at the company who inspired him greatly, and later Dr. Gary Rassmen and Dr. Phil Eskola also excellent supervisors from the company whom Mr. Reynolds is grateful to have worked with. Mr. Reynolds then advanced to the position of staff chemist within the organization and held this role from 1970 to 1977 before becoming a research chemist from 1977 to 1986. His last position with Merck & Co. was as a senior research associate from 1991 until his retirement in 2004.
In addition to these primary roles, Mr. Reynolds worked as a Merck & Co recruiter at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Howard University, both in 1980, the University of North Carolina in 1981, and Rutgers University in 1985. He was named among the Intellectual Property Owners Inventor of the Year in 1993 for PROSCAR, the author of 27 articles that appear in professional journals, and holds 15 patents in his field. Mr. Reynolds became a member of the The Apache Junction Mounted Rangers in 2018 and holds membership with the American Chemical Society, Freemasonry (Lafayette Lodge #27) The Shriners (Salam Temple), and the Apache Junction Mounted Rangers. As a testament to his success, Mr. Reynolds appears in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the East.
