James Vogler, Physicist and Consultant, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in theoretical physics.
Growing up, Dr. Vogler felt most at home when crunching numbers. Gifted in mathematics at an early age, he later began to explore the scientific applications resulting in pursuing the field of physics academically. He first earned a Bachelor of Science in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1971 and continued at the University of Illinois to receive a Master of Arts in physics. From there, Dr. Vogler earned a PhD in physics from the University of California Berkeley in 1988 and an ScD in theoretical physics from Cambridge University in 1997. His contributions to the field have resulted in a number of patents. He considers the highlights of his career as developing some major advancements in space technology and designing things for the space station. Furthermore, he established a fellowship for scientific graduate work.
Dr. Vogler has held a number of roles that have allowed him the space to explore mathematical principles. His latest position was as senior partner of Mirage/KLM Communications. Prior to that, he was a partner at Atlantis Fiberoptics, JV Associates, Omni Spectra, Motorola, Hewlett-Packard and the Harvard Project Physics. He has maintained professional affiliation with the IEEE and the American Institute of Physics. Furthermore, he has leveraged his skills and expertise as a consultant of Rockwell International, Teledyne and Hughes Aircraft Co. Dr. Vogler has previously been included in 1993, 1996 to 1998 and 1999 in Who’d Who in the West publications.
