Ted W. Simon, Toxicologist at Ted Simon LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of toxicology.
Ever since he was young, Dr. Simon has loved biology. Throughout his formative years, many individuals around him encouraged him to pursue medical school. Though he did as they suggested, he knew that medicine was not for him and ended up resigning from his program after a year-and-a-half. In the following years, he decided to return to school at Georgia State University to earn a PhD in neuroscience. In 1989, he successfully graduated.
In 1993, Dr. Simon was hired by an environmental protection agency. However, his time there ended shortly thereafter when the United States Environmental Protection Agency hired him as a toxicologist in 1994. In 2001, he became the lead author on the “Rags” program. He, along with his team, wrote the third volume of the program, which was a probabilistic risk assessment. He considers this experience to be one of the highlights of his career.
Dr. Simon stayed with the United States Environmental Protection Agency until 2006. Alongside his primary position, he found much success as a contributor to and sole author of numerous scientific papers. He additionally was the sole author of a textbook about environmental risk assessments. In 2017, his hard work paid off when he received the Best Paper of the Year Award from the Society of Toxicology. As a further testament to his continuous success, Dr. Simon received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019.
