D. John Millener, Physicist at Brookhaven National Library, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in physics.

A native of Auckland, New Zealand, Dr. Millener earned a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Auckland in 1966 and 1968, respectively. Subsequently, he received a Doctor of Philosophy from Oxford University in 1972. Consequently, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship with the Oxford University from 1972 and 1975.

At the start of his tenure with the Brookhaven National Laboratory, Dr. Nelson worked as an assistant physicist further progressing to an associate physicist by 1980. Moreover, he assumed the position of a full physicist with the laboratory, before accepting the role of a guest scientist in 2014. In addition to this appointment, he has served as an associate editor for the Physical Review C, since 2002. Through these positions, Dr. Nelson has become knowledgeable of theoretical nuclear physics and hyper nuclear structure. In a career filled with highlights, he was proud to have published several papers that are still cited to this day.

Achievements to Dr. Nelson’s credit include becoming a fellow of the American Physical Society. Likewise, he was a Rhode Scholar in England during 1968. In light of his exceptional undertakings, he was featured in the 1st edition of Who’s Who in Science and Engineering.
