De Ann Pope, Chief Scientist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in cybersecurity and project management.
Backed by a Bachelor of Science in physics from the University of Venice, Ms. Pope began her career as an electrical engineer in the United States Air Force. She served from 1979 until 1985, going on to work for Wang Labs after retiring from the military. There, she upheld the title of the systems engineer. In the following years, she went on to work for several different companies, including Hughes Aircraft, now known as Raytheon, Cidera, Inc., and Ecutel, Inc. Currently, Ms. Pope is demonstrating consistent success as the chief scientist and senior program manager at L-3 Communications.
With certifications in infrastructure library foundation training, performance-based contracting, and method of security information at the network access point, Ms. Pope has found additional success by publishing various patents. Some of her most notable works include, “Audio Digital Steganography Algorithm Using Biased Compressed Products,” “System and Method for Secure Moderated Transactions,” and “System and Method for Data Transmission.” Looking back on her illustrious career, Ms. Pope attributes much of her success to hard work, dedication, and her inherent interest in solving problems. She considers the highlight of her career to have been earning the funds for technology that didn’t exist, as well as getting people to believe and invest in her ideas.
In five years, Ms. Pope will be retired. Having over 30 years of experience in National Security Solutions subject matter, she has established herself as one of the greatest individuals in her field. Throughout her career, she has proved her excellence in technical business development and capture, proposal support, practice assessments, and establishing and assessing performance measurements. Though she has slowed down her work pace, she continues to regularly provide group facilitation and moderation, as well as training and knowledge transfers in both cybersecurity and project management.
