A distinguished computer scientist specializing in software development, Dr. Agrawal offers consulting services to the businesses he takes on as clients and utilizes his eclectic technological background to serve them. In addition to his business endeavors, he is the author of, “Impirical Foundations of Information and Software Science” and is a co-author to, “Applesoft Basic Programming” and “Empirical Foundations of Information and Software Science IV.”
Prior to his current role, Dr. Agrawal commenced his career as a professor and head of the computer science department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida from 1986 to 1990. Simultaneously, he was a professor in the computer science department at King Saud University in Saudi Arabia, where he remained until 1995. Channeling his expertise into working with the International Programs Office at Purdue University in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he also served as an instructor with Everest University’s Graduate School, in which he taught in a number of departments from 1999 to 2010. Dr. Agrawal found further success on assignment to Malaysia as a consultant at the Institut Teknologi Tun Hessein and as chief of the computer science division at the Army Institute for Research and Management Information Computer Science.
Dr. Agrawal had a love for mathematics since his formative years. In high school, he began tutoring his fellow classmates, which his father later turned into a business for him. As he continued to progress in school, he went on to attend Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University in his native India where he earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in mathematics in 1960. In 1966, he earned a Master of Science in applied mathematics from the University of Windsor in Canada, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in mathematics from Purdue University in the United States in 1968. Later on in his life, Dr. Agrawal earned a Master of Business Administration in international business from Florida Metropolitan University in 2002.
Looking back on his illustrious career, Dr. Agrawal attributes his success to his father and stepmother. In addition, he thanks God for everything he has given him personally and professionally in his life. The advice that the renowned computer scientist can offer to those aspiring to enter his field is to, “proceed with caution and may success be yours.” In five years’ time, Dr. Agrawal hopes to slow down professionally and devote more time to his grandchildren. In his spare time, he is an avid gardener, as he enjoys growing his own vegetables and learning about new plants he can grow.
