Eileen K. Jaffe, PhD, Professor at Fox Chase Cancer Center, Temple University Health System, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in biochemistry and research.
Dr. Jaffe earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the State University of New York at Cortland in 1975. From 1975 to 1978, she was a National Science Foundation graduate fellow at the University of Pennsylvania. She then received a Doctorate of Philosophy in biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania in 1979. From there, she became a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University from 1979 to 1981.
Dr. Jaffe started her career as a temporary assistant professor of chemistry at Haverford College in 1981, remaining until 1983. She then became a research assistant professor at Thomas Jefferson University from 1983 to 1984. In 1984, she went back to her alma mater, the University of Pennsylvania as a research assistant and associate professor, holding the position until 1991. Since 1991, Dr. Jaffe has been an associate professor and a professor with the Institute for Cancer Research at the Fox Chase Cancer Center. As a testament to her success, Dr. Jaffe received the Elizabeth Bingham Mentoring Award from AWIS PHL and is an inaugural member of the Academic Hall of Fame at SUNY Cortland. She has been inducted as a member of the American Chemical Society, American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, American Association for the Advancement of Science, Society for the Study of Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Sigma Xi. She is also listed in numerous editions of Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America, Who’s Who of American Women, Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, and Who’s Who in America.
