Yuri Terekhov, PhD, Research Scientist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in physics and engineering.
Born with an inherent interest in mathematics and science, Dr. Terekhov enrolled at the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute when it came time for him to pursue a formal education. In 1997, he acquired a Bachelor of Science in physics, going on to earn a Master’s in engineering physics two years later. Later, in 2013, he returned to school and earned a PhD in physics from the University of Alabama.
Dr. Terekhov began his career as a research scientist and engineer at the Russian Academy of Sciences in the Department of Quantum Electronics. He remained there until 2005, going on to work with RM Consulting as a computer technician before becoming a teaching assistant and research assistant at the University of Alabama. He excelled in these roles until 2014, becoming the R&D manager at the Fonon Corporation in 2015. Dr. Terekhov continues to uphold this role today, alongside his position as a research scientist at the University of Alabama. Outside of his primary ventures, he has co-authored 30 scientific publications throughout his career, as well as working on multiple conferences and workshops. Reflecting on his myriad accomplishments, Dr. Terekhov considers the highlight of his career to be the collaborative work he completed with his colleagues. As a testament to his professional success, he is featured in the 69th and 70th editions of Who’s Who in America.
