Nirmalya Thakur, Researcher at University of Cincinnati, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for his pioneering research and exemplary contributions to the field of Computer Science with a specific focus in Human Computer Interaction and its related disciplines.
A native of India, Mr. Thakur initially earned a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology in 2017. Soon thereafter, he came to the United States, where he received a Master of Science in Computer Science with a specialization in Human Computer Interaction from the University of Cincinnati in 2019. Mr. Thakur is currently a researcher in the Multimedia and Augmented Reality Lab at the University of Cincinnati and is slated to graduate from the Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering degree program with the same specialization in 2022.
Mr. Thakur’s groundbreaking research that has earned him incredible fame, immense recognition, outstanding awards, and great repute from all over the world, aims at bringing about a revolution to the future of Smart Homes and Smart Cities, with a specific focus on healthy aging and independent living of the rapidly increasing global elderly population. His research has explored the intersections of Human-Computer Interaction, Robotics, 5G, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Assistive Systems, Affective Computing, Blockchain and their applications. He has authored 26 peer-reviewed publications in a combination of conference papers, journal publications and invited book chapters. As a distinguished researcher in this field, he has delivered several keynote addresses and invited presentations in different international conferences in United States, Canada, China, Denmark and Indonesia. The fact that his papers have been cited more than 100 times in the last 2 years underscores the immense global impact of his research. He has been associated with 27 international conferences as an organizing committee member. He also serves on the reviewer board of around 20 journals and has reviewed close to 100 papers. To add to the above, he has also completed more than 100 online certification courses related to emerging technologies in the above-mentioned fields.
He has received funding for his research, the Interdisciplinary Research Fellowship and the Risk Management Award from his University. He has been featured as a Pinnacle Professional in Activity Centric Computing by Continental Who’s Who and he also received the ‘Excellent Researcher Award’ at the 2nd International Academic and Research Excellence Awards ceremony. Outside of his professional endeavors, he enjoys traveling, listening to music and watching films during his leisure time. In the coming years, Mr. Thakur intends to continue in the field of academic research and remain active in training and nurturing the next generation of aspiring researchers. As a further testament to his success, he has been featured in Who’s Who in America.
