Since 2017, Dr. Tanno has found great success as a research assistant professor at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She previously excelled as a senior research scientist at the aforementioned university in 2016, leading her to ascend to a higher position of responsibility. She further flourished as a senior scientist at the Biomedical Research Institute between 2006 and 2015. Prior to these appointments, Dr. Tanno earned a Bachelor of Science in microbiology in Thailand in 1995, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in tropical medicine at Mahidol University in 2002.
As a testament to her exemplary professional efforts, Dr. Tanno was presented with the Young Investigator Award in Thailand. She credits her success to her exceptional dedication, passion and desire to discover the truth behind her research. Raised in a rural environment in Thailand, she has harbored a lifelong interest in medicine and aspired to help her brother, who was afflicted with asthma and allergy issues during his youth. She is incredibly proud to help utilize her wealth of knowledge in molecular biology to bring positive change to the world. Looking toward the future, Dr. Tanno hopes to establish her own laboratory to continue her work on her terms, all while paving the way for the next generation of researchers and scientists in her field.
