Faisal A. Chaudhry, PhD, Associate Director of CMC Regulatory Affairs at Daiichi Sankyo, Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in regulatory controls.
Dr. Chaudhry became involved in his profession because he had a love for the life sciences, especially the cell biological aspect. He started with the intention of becoming a professor in biochemistry or molecular biology. However, when he went to graduate school, he started having a deeper interest in monoclonal therapeutics, especially in pharmacy. That is why he joined Regeneron to work on molecular antibodies. He eventually morphed from the manufacturing process and ultimately went into regulatory controls. Before embarking on his career path, Dr. Chaudhry earned a Bachelor of Arts in genetics from Ohio Wesleyan Purdue University in 1999. He then matriculated at Purdue University, receiving a Master of Science in cytoskeleton biochemistry in 2005 and a Doctor of Philosophy in plant cell wall architecture/biofuels in 2007. Continuing with his education, he became a postdoctoral fellow with Brandeis University from 2007 to 2012.
Dr. Chaudhry attributes his success to his drive to learn, grow and improve. While earning his degrees, he began his career as a researcher of Insectology US in 1997. He then became a researcher for Skin Disease and Pharmaceuticals, USDA in 1998. During his time at Purdue, he was a research assistant for biofuels and plant biotechnology in 2005. Upon completion of his education, he joined Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in 2012 and remained with the organization until 2019. While there, he held the positions of process scientist, CMC regulatory specialist, and senior CMC regulatory specialist. Since 2019, he has held the position of associate director of CMC Regulatory Affairs for Daiichi Sankyo, Inc. As a testament to his success, Dr. Chaudhry has been inducted as a member of the American Society for Cell Biology, American Association for Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the Protein Expression Group.
