Christian Hoffman, Research Scientist at New Jersey State Department of Environmental Protection, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in environmental stewardship.

After obtaining a master’s degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1964, Mr. Hoffman excelled as a research scientist with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection from 1966 to 2021, a government agency responsible for managing the state’s natural resources and addressing issues related to pollution. In addition, he taught at the New Jersey Institute of Technology for several years and served with the New Jersey Department of Health. He is certified as a professional engineer, a land surveyor and a professional planner. Mr. Hoffman has also been a member of two committees for the New Jersey Water Environment Association for 40 years.

To Mr. Hoffman, his professional success stems from the fact that he enjoyed working in his field, especially under the auspices of the state of New Jersey, which has always been a shining example of commitment to protecting the environment. He became involved in environment protection after seeing how society was becoming increasingly conscious of the importance of the field. Environment and pollution are areas that he has always been interested in and wanted to contribute to professionally. Mr. Hoffman’s career began with the New Jersey Department of Health, which eventually merged his division with the state’s Department of Environmental Protection, where he worked for 55 years.

Mr. Hoffman draws a great sense of pride from having served the state of New Jersey, as it has always been at the forefront of environment protection in the country. The state conferred to him the title research scientist  which he automatically qualified for because of his master’s degree and background in engineering. Since Mr. Hoffman is interested in continuing to contribute to the well-being of the environment, he will keep working with any projects with which the New Jersey Water Environment Association wants him to focus.
