In 2015, Ms. Hoeksema was the senior vice president and director of workforce planning with Arcadis NV, and in 2014, she served as a technical knowledge manager with the same company. Beginning her career in 1987, she was a department manager and senior geologist with RMT Inc. until 1999, when she took on the role of operations leader and certified project manager with Arcadis NV. Since 2021, Ms. Hoeksema has additionally found success as a part-time Mary Kay independent beauty consultant.

In preparation for her career, Ms. Hoeksema attended Lake Superior State College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in geology in 1987. She continued her higher education at Western Michigan University, completing graduate coursework in contaminant transport and hydrogeology. Since 1991, she has been a certified professional geologist with the American Institute of Professional Geologists. From 1994 to 2016, she was a professional geologist in the state of Indiana, and from 2017 to 2020, she was a certified project management professional with the Project Management Institute. To keep abreast of her career field, Ms. Hoeksema served on the executive board of the Michigan Section of the American Institute of Professional Geologists from 2016 to 2020 and served on the advisory board of representatives to the national executive committee of the American Institute of Professional Geologists in 2019.

For her accomplishments, Ms. Hoeksema earned the Ethics in Action “We Are That Award” from Consumers Energy in 2021. She was additionally listed in Marquis Who’s Who Industry Leaders and was a 2015-2016 inductee into the VIP Women of the Year Circle with the National Association of Professional Women. Alongside her primary pursuits, she was a mentor with Winning Futures in 2014 and has been a volunteer with Women in the Arts. In the coming years, Ms. Hoeksema hopes to become more involved in volunteerism, spend more time on her hobbies in the arts, and eventually enjoy a well-deserved retirement traveling with her family. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, traveling, and playing music.
