Roger K. McLimans, PhD, Independent Geological Consultant, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in geology research and investigation.

In preparation for his career, Dr. McLimans attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduating in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science in geology and earth science. In 1971, he obtained a master’s degree in geology and earth science from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and in 1976, he earned a Doctor of Philosophy in geochemistry from The Pennsylvania State University. Dr. McLimans has found success since 2015 as an independent geological consultant. Previously, he served as a technical research fellow with DuPont from 1988 to 2015, a senior research fellow with ConocoPhillips from 1977 to 1988, and an assistant professor from Northern Illinois University from 1976 to 1977.

Dr. McLimans was certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt with DuPont and has been a contributor to multiple professional journals. He holds a patent for a laser-enhanced oil correlation system, which he obtained in 1991, and received a James Madison Award for Best Technical Paper from the American Association of Petroleum Geologists in 1981. Dr. McLimans additionally earned a Best Paper of the Year Award from The Pennsylvania State University. He maintains membership in the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Geological Society of America. He attributes his success to having great advisers throughout his education.
