Upon earning a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1987, Mr. Ware commenced his professional journey as an agricultural chemist in the sugar business. He went on to offer his expertise as a drug chemist for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration before joining Shell Oil Company as a requisition technician in 2017. In his role for three years until 2020, he oversaw the Instrumentation, Analytical and Electrical Groups, having also been responsible for sending motors for repairs, buying motors, electrical materials/equipment, scheduling service for vendors, acquiring quotes and creating POs.
Since 2020, Mr. Ware has excelled as a purchasing specialist and contracts administrator III with the University of California, Berkeley. Working alongside the Information Technology and Engineering Departments, he is responsible for purchasing tools, materials and services or service quotes, as well as working with vendors in terms of the material/service prices and service/tool descriptions quotes. Outside of his primary role, Mr. Ware is a licensed water treatment operator and former member of the American Society for Quality and the American Society of Sugar Beet Technologists. He is also an active volunteer with the Salvation Army and assistant parent leader for the Boy Scouts of America.
