J. David Jacovitch, retired independent geologist and geophysicist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of geology.

Bolstered by nearly five decades of experience, Mr. Jacovitch has cultivated a thriving career in his chosen field. For much of his career, he operated as an independent geologist and geophysicist, working with such noteworthy companies as Schlumberger (SLB), Rocky Mountain Engineering and Daniel Geophysical. Utilizing his fascination with natural phenomena and his dexterous background in the sciences, Mr. Jacovitch conducted a great deal of work in measuring, examining and exploring the physical properties of the earth.

Throughout his time in the field, Mr. Jacovitch primarily specialized in copper, coal, gold and other minerals. Furthermore, he excelled in the exploration of oil and gas, conducting geo-profiles, creating sonic logs and managing wirelines. Now retired, he remains dedicated to civic advocacy, participating as a member of the Mohave County Jumpstarters.

As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Jacovitch served as a former member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and The American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers. Furthermore, he previously pursued a formal education. Committing to his studies at the University of Minnesota, he ultimately achieved a Bachelor of Science in geology.

In light of his fulfilling career, Mr. Jacovitch has largely attributed his success to his positive outlook on life and his ability to adapt to different situations and roles. Additionally, he has always maintained his passion for his profession and his principles, having tirelessly served his clients during his time in the field. Amongst his many career accomplishments, Mr. Jacovitch is particularly proud of his involvement in the analysis of fuel meter measurements in a local water well, which proved to be a critical study for the community.
