Charles Hodge, Retired Senior Scientist at Ecolab, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in research and product development.

With more than 45 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Hodge has excelled as a consultant for I&I Industry and Jasper Creek since 2016. Renowned for his global expertise in raw materials and oil analysis, he currently consults for various reputable companies and holds more than 200 worldwide patents containing trade secrets in numerous product lines. He previously found success in various roles with Ecolab between 1977 and 2016, during which time he advanced to the position of senior scientist prior to his retirement. Over the course of his tenure with Ecolab, he contributed to the Oasis Development Project, supervised both the Inorganic Analysis Laboratory and the Global Analytical Group, and launched a number of projects including the Oasis Compac Line for Housekeeping and Food Service. Likewise, Mr. Hodge recalls ensuring Ecolab’s spray cleaners did not cause adverse respiratory effects and replaced triclosan in foaming hand soaps with better materials.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Hodge pursued an education at Normandale Community College, from which he earned an Associate of Arts in chemistry. He continued his academic efforts with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry at the University of Minnesota. He subsequently obtained a supervisor’s excellence certificate from Century College and a Lean Six Sigman Green Belt Certification. Attributing his success to his fearlessness for creating new things as well as his experience in designing new ideas for products, he has been recognized with various accolades over the years, including an Ecolab Team Award for the Oasis 146 Multi-Quat Sanitizer, the Ecolab Team Award for the Ecolab Eco-Star Laundry Detergent and a nomination for an Ecolab Excellence Award. Looking toward the future, Mr. Hodge hopes to continue providing consultation services for interesting products while additionally offering his wealth of expertise to his grandchildren.
