Dr. Oana Marin, advanced computational scientist at Idaho National Laboratory, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of mathematics.
With more than two decades of experience to her credit, Dr. Marin has cultivated a fulfilling career in the field of mathematics. Specializing in applied and algorithmic mathematics, she recently joined the Idaho National Laboratory as an advanced computational scientist in 2022. Prior to her current appointment, she was an assistant computational mathematician at the Argonne National Laboratory from 2017 to 2022. Similarly dedicated to mathematics education, Dr. Marin excelled as a teacher at the International English School in Stockholm, Sweden, between 2006 and 2007. As part of her dedication to her profession, she also remains affiliated with the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.
As part of her vocational journey, Dr. Marin pursued her own higher education, originally earning a Bachelor of Science in mathematics at the University of Bucharest in 2003. She subsequently continued her studies at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, where she achieved a Master of Science in numerical analysis in 2007 and a PhD in applied and computational mathematics in 2012. From an early age, Dr. Marin fostered a passion for mathematics, and so she naturally gravitated towards her career as a mathematician. Looking to the future, she hopes to continue developing new mathematical methods to address new issues in her industry.
