Charlie B. Talley, the vice president of technology and chief chemist at Ideal Energy Solutions LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of chemistry.
Hailing from more than five decades of experience as an expert chemist, Mr. Talley has found success in his latest role at Ideal Energy Solutions, a technology service company that specializes in the development of flow assurance and production maintenance chemicals on behalf of the oil and gas industry. In his capacity as chief chemist, he notably helped to develop PipeRenew and WellRenew – patented biodegradable products that remove paraffin wax and asphaltene blockages in pipelines and oil wells, respectively. Likewise skilled in colloidal research and microbiology, Mr. Talley availed himself at such organizations as Frac-Chem, the Five Star Chemical Company, the Hormel Foods Corporation, the Germantown Manufacturing Company, the Pennwalt Chemical Company, and the Sandia National Laboratories.
Mr. Talley first studied chemistry at what is now Thomas Jefferson University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science. Throughout the course of his subsequent career, he is most proud to have patented more than 10 products, many of which have achieved an international scope. In accounting for his overall success, he largely credits his ability to listen to the concerns of both his customers and the industry at large, as well as his penchant for carefully observing problems and implementing innovative solutions as needed. Looking toward the future, Mr. Talley aspires to develop several more products on behalf of the oil industry, particularly in the realm of extracting oil deposits that have remained resistant to exploitation thus far. Outside of his vocational pursuits, he enjoys playing golf, gardening, refinishing furniture and helping his neighbors.
