John Chung, lead data scientist at Aspiration, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of data sciences.
Leveraging more than 15 years of experience, Mr. Chung has cultivated a fulfilling career. Since 2021, he has served as a lead data scientist at Aspiration, having otherwise operated within the environmental sustainability organization as a data scientist since 2020. Prior to his current appointments, he held similar positions at SemanticBits between 2019 and 2020 and at Impact between 2018 and 2019. Mr. Chung also found a wealth of success working with companies such as Kaiser Permanente, Nestlé USA, LogMeIn and Citrix Systems Inc. from 2010 to 2018. At the onset of his career, he excelled as a graduate student instructor at the University of California, Berkeley — his alma mater — from 2007 to 2009.
Before embarking on his vocational journey, Mr. Chung pursued a formal education, earning a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics in 2007 and a master’s degree in statistics in 2009 at the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to his academic credentials, he also holds pertinent certifications as a base and advanced programmer from the SAS Institute Inc., which he earned in 2014 and 2015, respectively. Well-regarded for his scholarly output as well, Mr. Chung has published several articles pertaining to radiotherapy and oncology for cancer treatments. Attributing much of his success to his faith, he is particularly proud of his work at LogMeIn, where he worked on many new metrics that allowed for further company growth.
