Robert C. Fletcher Jr., a principal biologist at Montrose Environmental Solutions, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the environmental and energy industries.
Hailing from over 15 years of experience in his chosen field, Mr. Fletcher has earned distinction through his role at Montrose Environmental Solutions, where he leverages his expertise as an environmental and energy consultant to manage various programs on behalf of the organization. He previously availed himself in various positions of high leadership at such companies as Environmental Intelligence LLC and San Diego Gas & Electric, the latter for which he began as an Environmental Staff Biologist with the Natural Resources group. Throughout the early stages of his career, Mr. Fletcher also served as a Staff Biologist with Chambers Group Inc. and as a research assistant at the Hubbs-Sea World Research Institute. Over the course of his career, he has notably liaised with such government organizations as the National Parks Service, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, among many others at both the local and federal level.
Mr. Fletcher first studied environmental science at the University of California Santa Barbara, from which he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2001. Following this accomplishment, he attended the University of Stirling in Scotland, where he graduated, with distinction, with a Master of Science in marine biology and aquaculture. Throughout the course of his subsequent career, he is most proud to have successfully managed a large contract with one of California’s largest utility entities – the deal initially started as a $15 million service agreement, which soon expanded to over $100 million after four years. Likewise, he was gratified to oversee a major expansion of staff members at Environmental Intelligence. In accounting for his overall success, Mr. Fletcher credits the influence of his parents, whose love and support taught him to focus on personal development and to always venture beyond his comfort zone. Looking toward the future, he aspires to continue expanding the scope of operations at Montrose Environmental and bring new contracts and clients under their purview.
