Dr. Rosario Sanchez, senior research scientist at Texas Water Resources Institute (TWRI), has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in research.
With over a decade of experience, Dr. Sanchez has thrived as a senior research scientist with the Texas Water Resources Institute (TWRI) since 2017. Alongside that position, she has been a water management and hydrological sciences program coordinator with Texas A&M University since 2012. From 2016 to 2017, she was a research scientist with TWRI. Previously, she held positions of specialist advisor on water labor and foreign affairs with the Federal Congress of Mexico from 2009 to 2011, a research assistant at Texas A&M University from 2006 to 2010, and a citizen protection department director with the Consulate General of Mexico in 2003.
Before starting her professional career, Dr. Sanchez earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Tecnológico de Monterrey in 1998. From there, she received a master’s degree in diplomatic studies from Matias Romero Institute in 2000. Shen then earned a Doctor of Philosophy in water management from Texas A&M University in 2009.
Looking toward the future, Dr. Sanchez wants to experience continued growth and success in her field. She also wants to continue to publish useful and accessible research. She already has six published articles in professional journals, including “Transboundary Aquifers between Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas, Mexico, and Texas, USA: Identification and Categorization,” published in 2018 in the Journal of Hydrology, Regional Studies and “Aquifers Shared Between Mexico and the United States: Management Perspectives and Their Transboundary Nature” published in 2017 in Groundwater.
