Gertrudis Evalle Salandanan, Administrative Laboratory Manager for Los Angeles County at the University of Southern California Medical Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in laboratory science.

With 35 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Evalle Salandanan excelled as an administrative laboratory manager and supervising clinical laboratory scientist for Los Angeles County at the University of Southern California Medical Center from 2012 to 2022, at which time she retired from the position.  

She began her career as a quality assurance clinical laboratory scientist at Alhambra Hospital Medical Center. She further worked at the University of Southern California Medical Center, serving as a chemistry laboratory scientist from 1988 to 1995, a clinical laboratory scientist from 1988 to 2004, a core laboratory scientist from 1995 to 2004, and a supervising clinical laboratory scientist from 2005 to 2012.

Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Evalle Salandanan pursued an education at the College of the Holy Spirit of the Philippines, from which she earned a Bachelor of Science in medical technology. After immigrating to the United States, she concluded her academic efforts at Mount Saint Mary’s University, obtaining a Master of Business Administration in organizational leadership in 2017. She was also certified as a point-of-care testing specialist by the American Association for Clinical Chemistry in 2017. Additionally, she is a licensed clinical laboratory scientist through the California Department of Public Health.

Beyond her primary vocation, Ms. Evalle Salandanan remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She held the role of auxiliary president of the Philippine Medical Association of Southern California in 2010. She was a member of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry and maintained involvement as chair of the Point of Care Testing Standardization Committee of Los Angeles County of Health Services from 2005 to 2022. In 2011, Ms. Evalle Salandanan was presented with the Outstanding Inspector Award from the College of American Pathology.
