Darnell D. Davis, research fellow at the Association of Public Health Laboratories, scientist at Actalent, Inc., and graduate teaching assistant at Howard University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in molecular biology.
With 20 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Davis has excelled as a research fellow at the Association of Public Health Laboratories since 2023. Concurrently, he has established himself as a scientist at Actalent, Inc. since 2023 and a graduate teaching assistant at Howard University since 2022. He began his career in data collection and survey analysis at the United States Department of Defense between 2004 and 2016.
Mr. Davis served as an epidemiologist at Tarrant County Public Health from 2020 to 2021. He contributed to L&H Scientific as a graduate teaching assistant and molecular laboratory technologist in 2021. Additionally, he completed the Dr. James A. Ferguson RISE Fellowship Program at the Kennedy Krieger Institute of Baltimore, Maryland in 2023.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Davis pursued an education at the University of North Texas at Dallas where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in biology, minoring in chemistry, in 2019. He is currently pursuing a PhD in biology at Howard University. He holds multiple certifications including in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, infectious disease transmission models for decision-makers, epidemiology in public health practice specialization, data analysis, mental health first aid, COVID-19 contact tracing, writing in the sciences, business consulting, and in the use of an automated external defibrillator.
In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Davis remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of Women in Cell Biology, the Scottish Rite Research Society, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., the Veterans of Foreign Wars; the American Society for Cell Biology, TriBeta, Mu Alpha Theta, and Pi Sigma Alpha. He contributed to the International Association of Professional Business Consultants, the Freemasons, held the role of deputy editor at The DG Sentinel, and was collaborative campaign coordinator of Dragonfly Mental Health. He also served for a time in the United States Army.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Davis has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was named a Robert E. McNair Scholar. Moreover, he received the Edith Hambie and W. Ruth Pruitt Excellence in Public Health Award from Kennedy Krieger Institute in 2023.
