Hailing from 20 years of experience in his chosen field, Mr. Bartley has found success in his present role at Waisman Biomanufacturing (WB), a contract development and manufacturing organization that has partnered with the University of Wisconsin-Madison to produce clinical trial material for both large and small biotech organizations, as well as academic institutions and government agencies. Bearing a wealth of expertise in pharmaceutical processes, Mr. Bartley is responsible for driving WB’s overall mission, vision, and organizational health, as well as ensuring that all employees in the director’s team have the resources they need to carry out their tasks. Having initially joined WB as a senior manufacturing and development specialist in 2006, he previously served as a manager at the McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research, a project manager at the UW-Madison Transgenic Animal Facility, and a scientist with PanVera LLC, beginning in 1997.
A noted expert in fermentation and bioreactor controls, Mr. Bartley holds a Bachelor of Science in bacteriology from UW-Madison, obtained in 1991. Among his most subsequent accomplishments, he is most proud to have broken barriers at the university, despite his lack of an advanced degree. However, he has demonstrated exceptional organizational skills and leadership qualities, which have enabled him to maintain the overall health of the company. On a more personal level, he cherishes his role as a loving husband and father, and takes immense pride in being part of a close-knit family that has faced several challenges together. In accounting for his overall success, Mr. Bartley credits his unwavering commitment to planning, setting goals, and achieving milestones. Outside of his work in biotechnology, he is also an accomplished ultra-endurance athlete.
