Aditi Sonal, a former postdoctoral research associate at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in research and development in science and technology.
Before embarking on her professional path, Dr. Sonal pursued education at Manipal Institute of Technology where she earned a Bachelor of Engineering in electrical and electronics engineering in 2013. She began her career as a system engineer in banking and finance at Tata Consultancy Services from 2013 to 2017. She garnered a stellar reputation and was awarded on numerous occasions for technical excellence. She continued her academic efforts at the University at Buffalo School of Engineering and Applied Science, graduating with a master’s degree in materials science in 2019 and a PhD in materials science in 2021.
Dr. Sonal worked as a software and algorithms engineer at Bridger Photonics, Inc. in 2021. From 2021 to 2023, she led research efforts as a postdoctoral research associate in nuclear science at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory as a part of the Uranium Program. As a postdoctoral research associate in structural biology at the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory she led efforts on resolving protein structures at the atomic scale using atom probe tomography with a goal of advancing the technique, resolving previously uncharacterized structures such as specific amino acids, protein backbone, sequence fragments, etc.
In addition to her primary vocation, Dr. Sonal remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of the Materials Research Society, the American Society for Mass Spectrometry, the Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the Microscopy Society of America, the Microanalysis Society, and the Robotics and Automation Society. In light of her impressive undertakings, she has accrued several accolades throughout her career.
Despite possessing a diverse skill set and pursuing proficiency in various fields, Dr. Sonal recognizes that she is still in the learning phase and hopes to gain experience in additional specializations. Her ultimate aim is to create and fuse ideas to propel herself forward.
