With 53 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Bailey, now retired, excelled as an adjunct professor at the Community College of Allegheny County from 2001 to 2023. He began his career as a co-contributor on the Apollo 13 to Apollo 15 space shuttle missions to the moon from 1970 to 1974. He worked on the technical staff at North American Aviation from 1970 to 1977. At Westinghouse Hanford Company, he served as a senior electrical engineer from 1977 to 1982. He garnered a stellar reputation as a senior engineer at The Westinghouse Electric Corporation from 1982 to 1997.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Bailey pursued an education at Pacific States University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, summa cum laude, in 1970. He continued his academic efforts at West Coast University, graduating with master’s degrees in marketing management in 1972, financial management in 1973, systems engineering in 1974, and management science in 1975.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Bailey has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He volunteered at Junior Achievement USA and as a math mentor at Crescent Elementary School from 1984 to 1987. He participated in nuclear research at Hanford Engineering Development Laboratory from 1977 to 1979. Furthermore, he served in the United States Army during the Korean War, specializing in heavy artillery.
In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Bailey remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Xi Sigma Iota Engineering Honor Society. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was presented with an award by Westinghouse Hanford Company and recognized as a top salesperson of nuclear products by Nuclear Reactor Organizations West Coast.
