Outside of his primary career, Dr. Ellison is deeply engaged in various civic and professional endeavors. He chairs the Responsible AI Committee at Lenovo, serves on the National AI Advisory Committee at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and is an expert advisor at OECD.AI. He also contributes extensively to professional publications and holds memberships in prominent associations such as the Association for Computing Machinery and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Dr. Ellison attributes his success to a combination of fortuitous circumstances and his unique skill set, which allows him to approach problems from both technical and business perspectives. One of his most significant accomplishments has been the establishment and growth of the AI Discover Lab at Lenovo, where he transformed a nascent initiative into a thriving business unit with a team of 35 employees and a revenue of $500 million.
