Kelly D. Bridges, Group Scientist at Procter and Gamble, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in computer-aided design.

With nearly 30 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Bridges has excelled as a group scientist with Procter & Gamble since 2018, a position in which he is responsible for designing and developing razor systems for the multinational consumer goods corporation. Likewise, he has been additionally active with Procter & Gamble as a senior product design engineer since 2004. In addition to helping develop Procter and Gamble’s new product lifecycle management system, Mr. Bridges has contributed to a number of successful projects, including the development of the Gillette Fusion, ProGlide, Venus Embrace, and Breeze, which incorporated his rigorous mechanical product performance specifications as well as aesthetic and ergonomic requirements from industrial design.

Prior to these roles, Mr. Bridges worked as a computer-aided design consultant with CADPo from 2003 to 2004. He previously served as a senior mold design engineer with the Caco Pacific Corporation between 2000 and 2003. From 1997 to 2000, he was recruited as a product and mold design engineer with Alliance Plastics. Mr. Bridges began his career as a product and process engineer with Styrex Industries from 1996 to 1997.

Before embarking upon his professional path, Mr. Bridges pursued an education at NC State University, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering in 1995. He subsequently obtained his Engineer-in-Training certification. Possessing a natural talent for computers and technology, Mr. Bridges was drawn to his field in his youth, having fostered a curiosity about dismantling objects, building computers, and experimenting.

Beyond his primary responsibilities, Mr. Bridges has found success in numerous endeavors outside of his immediate circles. A diligent and selfless figure in his community, he has supported the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the Boys and Girls Club of South Boston, Rosie’s Place, and small regional charities. He notably donated to a family displaced by a fire, having participated in a community service event at a local restaurant through his association with the Elks. Mr. Bridges has also been affiliated with both the Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Society of Plastic Engineers.

In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Bridges has accrued several accolades throughout his career. In 2011, he was proudly presented with the President’s Award from Procter and Gamble. Renowned as an accomplished inventor with a wealth of knowledge of design for manufacturing, Mr. Bridges has more than 100 patents in his field to his name.

Mr. Bridges attributed his success to his humility, his ability to build rapport with his colleagues, and his open-minded approach to learning from workers with hands-on experience in his industry. Among his many achievements over the years, he fondly recalls the invention of his latest creation, Venus Radiant Skin, with which he was involved in every step of development from conceptualization to production. He is also grateful to have visited Procter and Gamble’s research division in Reading, United Kingdom, having gained valuable information, connected with peers he now considers to be good friends, and discovered amazing new advancements in instrumentation. In the coming years, Mr. Bridges hopes to embrace his well-deserved retirement by traveling and exploring new places, developing innovative products at his own pace, and possibly exploring opportunities with a local biomedical device enterprise.
