Dr. Liang contributed as a member of the research faculty for The Pennsylvania State University for five years.

A strong education provides the foundation for Dr. Liang’s success. He began his educational journey in his home country of Taiwan, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from National Taiwan University. After immigrating to the United States, Dr. Liang earned a PhD in molecular biology from Michigan State University in 1996. Subsequently, he spent five years completing a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Michigan. Since then, Dr. Liang has frequently co-authored research articles and published in professional journals. He also cooperates with colleagues through a variety of scientific communities.

Dr. Liang credits his accomplishments to the guidance and mentoring he received while working on his PhD and postdoctoral research. His advisers and family offered him invaluable support and patience without pushing him down a specific path. Dr. Liang is especially grateful for the continued encouragement of his wife, who has been willing to move with him as he has pursued career opportunities. His future opportunities may be shaped by his family, which is involved in the chemistry industry. Dr. Liang is strongly considering pivoting to focus on chemistry in the future.

Beyond his professional life, Dr. Liang is a dedicated husband and father to two sons. He enjoys exercising, playing piano and volunteering in his local community. Looking to the future, Dr. Liang intends to continue his tenure with Restek Corporation and is eager to help the company grow further. While he may shift to chemistry research, he has no plans to leave his current company.
