Prior to this position, she was active as a contractor with the aforementioned court between 1988 and 2011. She previously served with such esteemed government agencies and organizations as the U.S. Department of Transportation in 1978, the U.S. Department of Agriculture in 1983, and the Federal National Mortgage Association, also known as Fannie Mae, in 1988. To support her professional ambitions, Ms. Grafton pursued an education at East Carolina University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics, cum laude, and a Bachelor of Arts in computer science, cum laude, in 1979.
An expert in SQL programming, Ms. Grafton has attributed her success to her dedication, her hard work, and her perfectionist mindset, which she utilizes to the fullest extent in her programming endeavors. Among the many highlights of her career, she is incredibly proud of replacing the old system for the Superior Court of the District of Columbia for a state-of-the-art application in 1991. Looking toward the future, she hopes to advise the next generations of technology professionals to prioritize working hard and being meticulous in their work, believing this approach to be crucial to their development in the field. In the coming years, Ms. Grafton hopes to enter a well-deserved retirement while devoting her spare time to genealogy.
