With four and a half decades of experience, Dr. Valenti has built a successful career in technology, specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) and cognitive science. He is the founder and chief executive officer of Spark Interventions LLC, a role he has held since 2024. Spark Interventions LLC specializes in AI services that create cognitive profiles for individuals, mainly focusing on neurodiverse populations such as those with autism, dyslexia, or ADHD. In this role, he is dedicated to serving neurodiverse communities and enhancing workforce diversity despite current funding challenges.

Dr. Valenti’s experience includes serving as head of AI at The CX Lab from 2023 to 2024, AI research scientist and project manager at Valenti Partners in 2023, and AI project manager and principal investigator at Boston Fusion from 2020 to 2023. He was an artificial intelligence researcher at Tufts University from 2015 to 2020 and held senior project manager roles for research administration and learning management systems at Tufts University from 2012 to 2015 and 2010 to 2012, respectively. He also served as a senior lecturer in project management at Northeastern University from 2006 to 2012, and worked as a principal consultant at Valenti Partners from 2002 to 2010. His earlier roles include director of technology at Plural (Dell Professional Services) from 1999 to 2002, second vice president of enterprise architecture at New England Financial (MetLife) from 1998 to 1999, and vice president of development at Fidelity Investments from 1993 to 1997.

Dr. Valenti holds a patent for a data distribution apparatus and method with a data description, including information for specifying a time that a data distribution is to occur, granted in 1990. His creative works include co-authoring “A Computational Model of Bilingual Inhibitory Control in a Lexical Decision Task,” presented at the 12th International Conference on Cognitive Modeling, Ottawa, in 2013. He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery and the Project Management Institute. Additionally, he has served as an ESOL tutor at Grace Chapel from 2004 to 2005, is a member of Grace Chapel, and is a donor to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Laying a solid educational foundation, Dr. Valenti earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from New York University, a Master of Science in computer science from New York University in 1979, and a PhD in cognitive science and computer science from Tufts University in 2020. He also holds a certification as a Project Management Professional. He takes great pride in earning his doctorate at the age of 60, and he values the respect and support he received from his colleagues throughout this challenging journey and hopes to leverage his knowledge to develop solutions for underrepresented and marginalized communities.

Dr. Valenti attributes his success to his unwavering faith in God, which inspires his innovative ideas and determination to pursue a doctorate. His challenging upbringing, marked by financial constraints and his father’s battle with Parkinson’s disease, also instilled a resilient spirit and a deep reliance on faith to navigate his path to success. In the coming years, he aims to establish Spark Interventions as a pioneering leader in leveraging technology to enhance mental health outcomes. He also aspires to become fluent in Spanish and to continue developing and refining his AI model, believing it has the potential to significantly impact lives. Looking further ahead, he plans to dedicate another decade to his work, hoping to leave a lasting legacy through innovations that benefit marginalized or underserved communities.
