Lynn Todd, laboratory director at Campbell County Health, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care.
Ms. Todd has demonstrated a passion for using her expertise in science to help people across more than 40 years in health care. After beginning her professional journey as a lab director and then a coal analyzer, she took on the role of medical technologist at Campbell County Health in 1981. Following 17 years in that position, she began serving as the organization’s laboratory director in 1998. During this time, she also contributed as a partner with Excalbur Entertainment for a decade. In addition to her continued work with Campbell County Health, Ms. Todd founded her own company, From Ow to Wow LLC, in 2015. With this venture, she helps treat anxiety in children through the innovative use of black light technology.
Before venturing onto her vocational path, Ms. Todd sought a strong academic foundation. She earned a Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in chemistry from Black Hills State University. Ms. Todd was recruited as a medical technologist directly from school. Since joining Campbell County Health, she has led the organization to radical transformations that have created a better experience for patients, including allowing them to order their own lab tests long before this was a common practice. Ms. Todd’s entrepreneurial efforts with From Ow to Wow LLC led to her demonstrating her black light technology to the Mayo Clinic, a career highlight. She credits her success to her adventurous nature and willingness to think outside the box.
Outside of her career, Ms. Todd is a devoted wife and mother to two children. In her free time, she enjoys remodeling and volunteering with United Way. While planning for the years ahead, Ms. Todd intends to retire from her role at Campbell County Health once she feels that she can provide a seamless transition to her replacement. Following that, she intends to place more of her focus on From Ow to Wow LLC, which will give her the opportunity to improve on the company’s black light art offerings and to help more children.
