Gennadi Bersuker, PhD, principal scientist, founder, and chief executive officer at M2D Solutions, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in research and development.

With three decades of experience, Dr. Bersuker has built a successful career in science and technology, specializing in research and development of electronic technology and new-generation AI. He currently serves as principal scientist, founder, and chief executive officer of M2D Solutions, a role he has held since 2022. In this position, his responsibilities include identifying key problems to address, formulating technical issues for his team, potential customers, and partners, and offering solutions for investigating new technologies. He guides clients on how to approach challenges to achieve success, manages his team of employees and collaborators, and breaks down tasks to ensure they align with the broader goals of customers or partners. He also oversees daily progress, analyzing each group’s contributions and regularly discussing progress to ensure all aspects are moving toward the larger objective. His work requires combining information from various physical expertise areas, particularly in material modeling, while controlling the process to ensure each task is completed in detail by his collaborators.

Dr. Bersuker’s experience includes serving as a senior scientist at The Aerospace Corporation from 2015 to 2023 and as a fellow at Sematech from 1994 to 2014. His early career began in the science field from 1981 to 1994. In addition, he dedicates his time as a presenter and committee chair at the International Reliability Physics Symposium and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Laying a solid educational foundation, he earned a Master of Science from St. Petersburg University in 1976 and a PhD in theoretical physics from the Academy of Sciences of Moldova in 1981. He takes great pride in his contribution to the development of groundbreaking semiconductor technology that is now widely used in devices such as phones and computers. This new type of transistor, first developed 25 years ago, benefitted immensely from his role in its physical analysis and understanding. He addressed critical issues related to the material’s performance, operational conditions, driving forces, and troubleshooting during its early stages. Despite initial skepticism from the scientific community, he was among the few who believed in the potential of this technology, which was ultimately proven successful.

Dr. Bersuker attributes his success to his unwavering passion for his work, maintaining a laser-like focus and relentless work ethic throughout his career. He seamlessly blended his personal and professional lives, using a single laptop for all activities and consolidating emails to ensure smooth information flow. For him, work was a source of immense joy, more of a rewarding pursuit than just a job. In the coming years, he aspires to pioneer a new frontier in artificial intelligence hardware. While much of the field’s focus has been on AI software and algorithms, he is directing his attention to the development of energy-efficient technology for neuromorphic computing. He believes that this innovative approach to AI hardware holds the potential for groundbreaking advancements, offering a fresh and promising path for the future of artificial intelligence.
