With a prolific career spanning nearly 50 years, Dr. Pierce has established himself across multiple fields, particularly focusing on biotechnology. Since 2018, he has served as the president of Crowpierce Technologies LLC, where he leads the organization in developing breakthroughs in the biomedical and agricultural sectors. Dr. Pierce’s guidance has led to the development of new technology for keeping produce fresh longer and cutting-edge treatments for acute lymphoblastic leukemia, one of the most common types of cancer in children. Prior to his current role, he contributed as a professor of microbiology at Georgia State University for 20 years. Dr. Pierce held the position of manager of technology development and engineering at Georgia State University and Cytec Industries. His early career includes tenures as a director at Celgene Corporation and an associate section manager at Battelle Memorial Institute.
Dr. Pierce’s performance in his professional life was born of his academic journey. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1969. Subsequently, Dr. Pierce earned a PhD in microbiology from the same institution in 1976. He credits his success to the bosses, mentors and colleagues he has worked with throughout his career.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dr. Pierce is a loving husband and father to one child. He enjoys traveling and exploring new places. Planning for the future, Dr. Pierce looks forward to conducting new trials on Crowpierce Technologies LLC’s leukemia treatments in Europe. Following those tests, he aims to partner with a major pharmaceutical company to get the treatment into the hands of people who need it. Dr. Pierce also intends to continue his research into vegetable and fruit preservation, with hopes of finding new solutions in that space.
