With over four decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Moore has established a successful career in environmental consulting, specializing in regulatory liaison, client management, and remediation. Since 2008, he has excelled as the owner and president of Approach Environmental. Approach Environmental serves a diverse client base, including above-ground and underground storage tank operators, commercial property stakeholders, lending institutions, industrial facilities, municipalities, parishes, ports, private landowners, oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) companies, E&P service providers, and pipeline companies, among others. In this capacity, he provides environmental consulting services for industrial and municipal clients, focusing on permitting, acquisition, and divestiture studies. He also conducts soil and groundwater assessments and oversees remediation efforts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. His team operates from Georgia to El Paso, Texas, with professionals positioned from West Texas to the Atlantic Coast, including geoscientists, environmental scientists, and engineers.
Mr. Moore’s experience also includes serving as technical manager at Bear Creek Environmental Systems from 2006 to 2008 and vice president of operations at Jones Environmental from 1988 to 2006, where he also worked as a geologist from 1987 to 2005. His early roles included staff geologist and sales for Enviromatics Group in 1987 to 1988, geologist at Caruthers Producing Co. Inc. in 1986, and geologist at Chaparral Exploration from 1983 to 1986. He actively contributes as a board member and treasurer for the Shreveport Geological Society, which promotes geological science in the Ark-La-Tex region by publishing local geological research, hosting educational events, and providing scholarships. Additionally, he is a dedicated member of the National Groundwater Association, Louisiana Oil & Gas Association, and Louisiana Association of Business and Industry, supporting initiatives in water conservation, sustainable energy, and economic growth. He also serves as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Moore’s interest in earth sciences and the natural environment laid the groundwork for a distinguished career in environmental consulting. He built a strong educational foundation, earning an Associate of Science in petroleum engineering technology and a Bachelor of Science in geology from Louisiana Tech University in 1983. With extensive expertise in environmental site assessments, particularly for oilfield sites and commercial real estate transactions across Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and beyond, he has become a trusted figure in environmental compliance.
Mr. Moore’s work spans leaking underground storage tank closures, environmental assessments, and site remediation, supported by his credentials as a professional geoscientist in Texas, a professional geologist in Arkansas, and a Louisiana DEQ-approved response action contractor with a hazardous waste specialty license. Designated an “Environmental Professional” by the EPA, he advises clients on regulatory compliance and project management with a commitment to integrity and professionalism. He attributes his success to unwavering consistency, a strong work ethic, loyalty, and dedication. Looking ahead, he aims to foster the development of his core team while cautiously expanding Approach Environmental. In his personal life, he enjoys spending quality time with his family and traveling.
