Dr. Burrows is an experienced consultant who founded and has served as the owner of Bio42 Consulting LLC since 2014, a full-service consulting firm for biotechnology, process development and manufacturing. In his role, he provides comprehensive consulting services to hospitals and pharmaceutical companies, focusing on guiding clients through every stage of process development. Moreover, Bio42 specializes in helping scale up or down manufacturing operations to support commercial production.
Leveraging over 40 years of success in his field, Dr. Burrows began his career at Parke-Davis & Company in 1983 and progressed by earning opportunities with such companies as Fujifilm Diosymth Biotechnologies, Aravive Biologics Inc., Tunnell Government Services, and among other roles, served as the director of strategic development drug product, CMO, at Sigma-Aldrich Co. LLC from 2021 to 2023. His expertise in process development through manufacturing, building DNA vectors, cell culture, barrel manufacturing of drug substances and other areas of the field has made him a well-rounded expert in the sciences.
In preparation for his career, Dr. Burrows garnered a Bachelor of Science in biology from Tri-State University (Now Trine University) in 1980, a Master of Science in biology and biological sciences from Eastern Michigan University in 1989 and a Doctor of Philosophy in cellular and molecular biology from Clark University in 2013. In addition to his degrees, he remains relevant in his industry as a member of the American Chemical Society and the American Society for Cell Biology. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Burrows has found tremendous success, including his involvement in significant pharmaceutical drug research and development, focusing on cardiovascular and atherosclerosis issues. His work on congestive heart failure was particularly notable, as it led to identifying a highly effective treatment that significantly impacted the market. Dr. Burrows credits his success to his perseverance and dedication.
