Mr. Semenza is a seasoned scientist and sales professional lauded for his contributions to his field as the owner and consultant at Consultech Water Treatment, a solutions-based company in Hamilton, Montana, that helps clients in the fuel ethanol, food and beverage, and wastewater industries as they resolve multifaceted water treatment and regulatory issues. Established in 2014, Mr. Semenza leverages his experience in wastewater treatment, cleaning and sanitation, and sustainable food production sectors, making him an expert in his field.
In addition to managing his team of experienced consultants and working with clients, Mr. Semenza manages the day-to-day aspects of running his firm. He also oversees his company website and is involved in networking opportunities to ensure future success.
During his tenure managing his company, Mr. Semenza also served as the director of sales for biofuels at Zee Loeffler from 2023 to 2023 in a remote capacity. He also worked for DeLaval between 2008 and 2021, beginning as a technical and business manager from 2006 to 2018. He then garnered success as a regional sales manager between 2018 and 2021 and as the sales director from 2021 to 2023.
Before joining DeLaval, Mr. Semenza worked for Enviro-tech between 2002 and 2006, where he managed new product development and direct sales of Environmental Protection Agency-registered sanitizers, water treatment products and waste process water products. Earlier in his career, Mr. Semenza was a sales representative and technical director for GE Benz Grace Dearborn from 1993 to 1999.
Mr. Semenza honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy as a surface warfare officer between 1985 and 2010. He was involved in auxiliary electrical engineering and overseeing the ship’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. He served four years of active duty and 18 years in the reserves, retiring at the rank of commander. Following his service, Mr. Semenza chose to pursue a career in the water treatment industry despite having earned a bachelor’s degree in geology, with plans to work as a geologist in the oil and drilling sector.
Highly educated, Mr. Semenza received a Bachelor of Science in geology with a minor in computer science from Montana State University in 1985, an Associate of Science in water technology from Mount San Antonio College in 1995, and a Master of Science in environmental management from San Jose State University in 1999. He is highly qualified in his field and holds licensure in water distribution and water treatment.
Mr. Semenza has garnered tremendous success in his career. Since 2017, he has held two U.S. patents for an antimicrobial method for the fermentation process and currently has six additional U.S. patents pending. Additionally, his expertise has spanned the wine industry, where he has been instrumental in developing better consistency among flavors. As a dedicated researcher, Mr. Semenza has also contributed articles to various professional journals.
In addition to his work-related ventures, Mr. Semenza chairs the Bitterroot Wine Society, a local organization for wine connoisseurs. In light of his military success, he has received several recognition awards from the U.S. Navy. Eager for the future of his career, he aims to grow Consultech Water Treatment into a multi-million-dollar business before retiring and focusing on lecturing and philanthropy.
