Jason T. Abed, MBA, principal and director of industry solutions at Microsoft Corporation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in technology.
With two decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Abed has established a successful career in technology, specializing in delivering technology solutions across various industries, including manufacturing, retail, public sector customers, and nonprofits. He currently serves as a principal and director of industry solutions at Microsoft, a position he has held since 2021. In this role, he provides non-technical support with expertise in cloud applications and data analysis, working across the operating units to help customers maximize the value of Microsoft products. His experience also includes serving as the owner of Puzzles Consulting LLC since 2023, as well as having held various roles at Avanade Inc. from 2019 to 2021, including director for the U.S. Northeast region. Prior to this, he was a senior research and development solutions architect and senior program manager at Microsoft from 2018 to 2019. He also served as a senior consultant at Microsoft from 2010 to 2018 and as a senior manager at Longshore Sailing School from 2004 to 2010.
Laying a solid educational foundation, Mr. Abed earned a Bachelor of Science in finance, information systems, and computer science from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University, graduating magna cum laude, and Master of Business Administration from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University. His certifications include Prosci Certified Change Practitioner, Microsoft OpenHack Serverless Certification, Microsoft OpenHack Containers Certification, Accessibility in Action, Certified Solution Architect, and Certified Solutions Professional for O365. Additionally, he dedicates his time as an alumni-in-residence at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University, and serves on the Young Alumni Leadership Council at Stern and as Chairman of the Reunion Planning Committee. He also is the volunteer chairman of the board of directors for the Associate Board of Scholarship Plus, a role he has held since 2018. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has received the Community Champion Award and the Consulting Partner Excellence Award.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Abed takes great pride in his involvement with a European cooperative in the diamond industry, where he contributed to the development of a startup that gained recognition from established players. He played a key role in enhancing the cooperative’s use of technology and innovative business models, particularly through a partnership with the government of Botswana to optimize mining operations. As demand for diamonds grew, he helped automate processes and introduce high-tech bespoke designs, significantly reducing reliance on traditional mining and sourcing diamonds directly. This strategy has allowed the cooperative to offer competitive prices while ensuring that the government, local communities, and mine workers benefit more from the operations. He attributes his success to his unwavering diligence, natural talent, and the steadfast support of his parents, which enabled him to become the first in his family to attend college and secure a job of his caliber. Looking to the future, he envisions leveraging his experience and insight to play a key role in decision-making within a prominent organization.
