His leadership at Cell X Analytics is complemented by his position as an assistant professor at the Medical University of South Carolina since 2017, where he operates a research laboratory focused on the advancement of medical science.

Dr. Krieg began his career as a research associate at The Scripps Research Institute from 2004 to 2006. He subsequently continued his work as a research associate at Lausanne University Hospital in Switzerland between 2006 and 2010. He further cemented his expertise during this time as a postdoctoral fellow at University Hospital Zürich from 2010 to 2014. Soon thereafter, he served as a University Research Priority Programs fellow at Universität Zürich until 2017. These roles have notably provided him with a robust foundation for his expertise in scientific research and innovation.

Throughout his career, Dr. Krieg has been actively involved in several professional organizations, including the Society for Neuroscience, the American Association of Immunologists, the German Society for Immunology, and the Society of Leukocyte Biology. He is also a member of the Big Data and Data Sharing Committee within the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer, a professional society dedicated to improving outcomes in patients with cancer from around the world by advancing the study and application of cancer immunotherapy, and the Swiss Society for Allergology and Immunology, an organization that assembles scientists, specialists and physicians who are active in the aforementioned medical discipline. His membership in these organizations underscores his commitment to the progress of scientific knowledge and collaborations within the broader spectrum of medical science.

Dr. Krieg’s academic journey began with a diploma in biology and biochemistry from Universität Hamburg, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy in virology and infectious diseases from Saarland University. His educational background has been pivotal in shaping his approach to problem-solving in medicine, allowing him to contribute significantly to patient care through innovative solutions. Influenced by supportive environments such as the German Academic Scholarship Foundation and the Institute for Experimental Immunology at the University of Zurich, Dr. Krieg attributes his success to resilience, open-mindedness, and collaboration.

In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Krieg is dedicated to civic engagement through fundraising efforts for local cancer societies. He has also supported those in need through his participation in Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walks. His stellar contributions to the field have been recognized with accolades such as the AAI Trainee Poster Award from The American Association of Immunologists in 2013.

Born in Hamburg, Germany, Dr. Krieg enjoys various outdoor activities such as hiking, mountaineering, swimming, gardening, and visiting the beach during his leisure time. He also appreciates trying new foods with his wife and traveling to explore different cultures. Looking toward the future, Dr. Krieg is determined to advance his research initiatives and raise awareness about impactful tools and resources while inspiring future generations of scientists. His personal goals include growing his company and developing tools that will benefit patients while educating young people about careers in science.
