Over the years, she earned research positions at the City University of New York and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She also garnered experience in the classroom as a teaching assistant in the biopharmaceutical analysis training laboratory at Northeastern University. Before acquiring her present position, Dr. Quijada was a scientist at Verily.

Highly educated in her respective field, Dr. Quijada received an associate degree in chemistry from Instituto Universitario de Technologia Dr. Federico Rivero Palacio in 1996, a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Universidad Simón Bolívar in 2004 and a Doctor of Philosophy in chemistry and chemical biology from Northeastern University in 2017. Her education has been complemented by her membership in leading professional organizations, such as the American Society for Mass Spectrometry, the American Chemistry Society and the Human Proteomic Organization.

As a seasoned researcher, Dr. Quijada has disseminated some of her findings in professional articles as a co-author. Among her most notable work included her studies at Stanford University, which focused on preclinical techniques and questions related to molecular pathways. Additionally, she was involved in a long-term study on fiber supplementation, which was both meaningful and impactful. Dr. Quijada’s success has been recognized with several accolades, including a Travel Award in 2015 from the American Society for Mass Spectrometry and a US-HUPO Travel Award at the 16th Annual Meeting of Precision Proteomics for Discovery and Health at Northeastern University. Looking toward the future, she is considering pursuing other areas of her field, including proteins and biochemistry. She also envisions becoming more philanthropic by establishing an organization to help underprivileged children.
